罗马

The 体系结构罗马程序 is an annual Fall semester offering for students in 体系结构 and Interior 体系结构 and 设计. The program provides an opportunity to live and study for three months in the very center of 罗马, with direct access to its historically and culturally rich architectural environments. Required courses include a Preparatory Seminar (2 credits, conducted in 莫斯科 the preceding Spring semester), Architectural 设计 Studio (6 credits), 罗马艺术史, 体系结构, and Urbanism (3 credits), Sketching for 体系结构 (3 credits), 和城市理论 & 问题(3学分). Field trips take students to various locations around Italy, with past trips including week-long visits to Umbria (Spoleto, 阿西西, 佩鲁贾), and the 阿 Coast (Paestum, Atrani, 阿, Ravello).

The program is directed by 教授essor 马修Brehm, who studied in 罗马 for an academic year with the University of Notre Dame as an undergraduate architecture student in the 1980s. 教授. Brehm created the 体系结构罗马程序 in 2007, and has successfully guided more than 200 University of Idaho students to 罗马 and back since then. Guest faculty members from other programs provide studio critiques and walking tours – past guests have included faculty from Cornell University, The American University in 罗马, The American Institute for Roman Culture, Northeastern University, and the Sapienza Universitá di Roma. 访问s to numerous museums and archeological sites are integrated into the coursework, and group dinners happen on a weekly basis.
